Booking Several Appointments in One Visit: Multiple Pets, Rooms or Jobs at One Address
Mobile businesses see it all the time: a household with three dogs, a client with two cars to detail, a family booking haircuts for everyone. These are your most valuable visits. One trip, several jobs.
Most booking forms make them the most annoying to book. The client books one appointment, then starts again from the beginning for the second, retyping their name, phone, email and address, and hoping the next slot is still free.
What a good multi-appointment booking does
- Details once. The client enters their contact details and address one time.
- Only what differs per appointment. Each extra appointment asks for its own service and your questions about it: the dog's name, breed and weight, or the car's make.
- Back-to-back times. The second appointment starts when the first finishes, plus any gap you need, so the visit is one block in your day.
- All or nothing. If the second slot has just been taken, the client is told which one and why, rather than ending up with the first appointment booked and the second missing.
Keep each appointment separate behind the scenes
For the client it is one booking. For you it should still be separate appointments: if one dog is unwell on the day, you can cancel or move that one without touching the others, and each has its own notes and price.
Watch your daily limits
A three-dog visit uses three slots of your day. If you cap jobs per day, the booking should count them all, so a busy multi-appointment visit can't push you over without anyone noticing.
